What Kind of Generation Will the Increasing Number of Educational Centers in Somalia Produce, Destructors or Constructors?


Why we need an education is the question I am going to begin with my essay and by answering this I choose to cite the famous work of Jean Jacques Rousseau. In his book Emile, or education, Rousseau put; We are born weak, we need strength; we are born lacking everything, we need aid; we are born stupid, we need judgment. All that we lack at birth and that we need when we are growing is given by education”.
Anyone with eyes open should wonder the question of the tittle; what kind of boys and girls are we expecting from these schools, institutes and universities? Because as far as we are aware of the fighters of the rivaling groups (whatever we call them) in Somalia are not all illiterate besides, some of them have really university level education, but they are killers, they even not only kill the enemy but the innocents, why? For my part I have no a satisfactory answer to this question instead I can share with you one important thing which
I believe that you may also speculate; there is a great difference between to be a man, a man with an open heart ready to be filled and to be a citizen. And if you don’t become the one you can never be the other. So I think that those fighters have failed to be citizens so that they remain to be man and as a result they are used for personal interests by so- called leaders.
The very little I know plus my experience suggest me that every human action directs to an end and that is to say even my writing to this essay has an end and it may also be possible to have two ends; One is to let you know that there is a fellow citizen who cares and at the same time admires the personal contributions you make for those who are in need and the other one is that to engage you in order to reflect a little bit why you are doing what you are doing.
For the answer of the above mentioned question is going to give me both a hope and ability to imagine how the future generation will become, because the ”children” you are educating today will be the potential leaders of tomorrow. They will be leaders who will deal with the different challenges and problems left unsolved by so-called today’s leaders. Knowing that those children live in a country where civil wars are commonplace. Moreover, most of them have no good role models whom they would see through who they will become.
Soo Dhalo Hooyo is a challenge for you, teachers
When it comes the issue of the Somalia children generally and particularly those who have been born the last 20 or 25 years, i simply remember Mohamed Lafools & Tooxows song (Soo Dhalo Hooyo).
This song is about a baby in its mother’s womb who, in the last when the nine months completed and the mother was about to deliver, has refused to come out of the womb because of the problems on the ground.
In this respect the children you are educating to day have come out of their mothers’ wombs against their will and now they have no choice to go back to their mother’s womb where they had everything that was necessary for their existence and preservation.
In the light of this song these children live in Somalia now, because they are compelled to; they know that there is a better place on earth to live in but they can’t go.
I really criticize those people who impulsively advocate the theory of educating children without knowing why they are doing so. For many whom I have asked the question; why they educate children or on other words why they contribute so that the children to be educated? they have not succeeded to give an adequate answer not that they have not put it as I wanted but that all their answers have not reflected the reality on the ground.
This is not because that they don’t think realistically but that they are not accustomed to be inquired such questions. However, this doesn’t mean that the answers you even would give out of the question will also suffer the same fortune.
Here I am going to stop my task of writing this essay with a question which possibly will wake the attention of many of you and I hope that this will pave the way for many future “discussions” on the subject. With all that examples I have given; what kind of generation are we expecting from these educational centers?

The death of Somali Identity

Just after the collapse of Republic of Somali all Somali people suffer a single disease which is losing their own identity, that is why you will see a Somali person searching another passport because he/she  believe that to be a Somali person is not appropriate, since Somali is labeled by terrorism, piracy all bad altitude.
The worst thing is Somalization which is one of the latest words added by English language, meaning of Somalization is destruction state or states under violence, such as Syrian Somalization, Yemen Somalization, and this is the worst description about a human being to define as violence society.
There are states that have longer conflicts then Somali such as Palestine since 1948, meanwhile India and Pakistan there is constant war among them but there is no single word that defines them as violence nations: why Somali people just suffering under these circumstances for the last 25 years only? The curse that happen the Somali society is equal whether the South or the north because they share same identity “Somali” if being Somali is by birth then whether you accepted or rejected you are what you were born, but if being Somali is something adopted then you can remove it for your identity; here is the question can a person erase his/her identity, a tree can’t hate his root, we are Somali people and it’s our duty to being back our identity and to feel full of pride being a Somali person.
Losing identity is not easy thing it would cause losing the whole nation, if you don’t know who you are? Why are you a Somali person? What is the purpose of life? The answers of these questions are what makes a human to feel like being valuable human to this globe, besides its clear for a Muslim person the purpose of a life “ to worship ALLAH , the creator of all along “, who you are ? you are a Somali person the braves of the horn of Africa, you are from nation that was ones in history one of the most powerful nations in Africa, Somali person is the owner of the second longest coastline in Africa, feel proud that ALLAH has chosen you to be this wonderful ethic group, the people that being good for their guests, the people that being good for war, the people that being good for peace, good in every dimension of life.
Of course loosing identity is worst thing that can a human phase; this was cause by long civil wars that happen in this country, and low level of quality education.

هل نحتاج رجل مثل توماس سنكارا في الحكم

توماس سنكارا الرّجل النّزيه، رئيس بوركينا فاسو من 1983 - 1987. غير إسم بلاده من الإسم الذي فرضّه المستعمر وهو (فولتا العليا) إلى إسم (بوركينا فاسو) وتعني أرض الرجال النزهاء ، اغتيل بعملية مشتركة من المخابرات الامريكية والفرنسية بالتعاون مع الرئيس المخلوع كومابوري الذي سقط في اكتوبر 2014 بأنتفاضة شعبية.
تخوفت القوى الامبريالية من قائد افريقي ثوري اشتراكي دعى الرؤساء الافارقه في اخر قمة يحضرها الى الكف عن الديون من دول العالم الاول والاعتماد على اوطناهم قائلا: ( إن الدين يدار بشكل بارع لإستعادة أفريقيا، إنه إسترداد يحيل كل واحد منّا إلى عبد إقتصادي ، إن سياسات الفائدة والمساعدات قد إنتهت بنا إلى إخضاعنا وسلبنا الشعور بالمسئولية تجاه شئوننا الإقتصادية والسياسية والثقافية) واوصاهم ترك شعوبهم تعيش حره مرفوعة الهامة في انظمة ديمقراطية.قال ثلاث كلمات فكانت صاعقة على رؤوس الطغاة ( الحرية - تؤخذ - ولاتعطى).حوّل بلاده في أربعة أعوام من بلد فقير يعتمد على المساعدات إلى بلد مستقل إقتصاديا ومتقدم إجتماعيا .
سياستة الداخلية تركزت على منع المجاعة مع الاكتفاء الذاتي الزراعي وإصلاح الأراضي، وإعطاء الأولوية للتعليم بحملة لمحو أمية في جميع أنحاء البلاد، وتعزيز الصحة العامة عن طريق تطعيم 2.5 مليون طفل ضد التهاب . السحايا، والحمى الصفراء والحصبه .
اهتم بالزراعة وطالب شعبه بالتخلي عن اكل الحبوب المستوردة من أوروبا   .علينا أن نستهلك ما نتحكم فيه
واستطاع في غضون 4 سنوات زيادة عدد الأطفال في المدارس وخفض معدل وفيات الرضّع وإعادة توزيع الأراضي على الفلاحين من الملاك الإقطاعيينوزراعة 10 ملايين شجرة لا تزال تساعد في تظليل العاصمة واجادوجو، فضلاً عن الاكتفاء الذاتي حيث اصبحت بوركينا فاسو اول دولة في تاريخ افريقيا مكتفية ذاتياً مع وجود فائض في الانتاج، اضافة الى تشييد مئات الكيلومترات من الطرق والسكك الحديدية من اجل ربط سكان الريف مع المدن ، وانشاء مئات القرى مع مستوصف ومدرسة لكل قرية اضافة الى التزام بحقوق المرأة حيث يعد الرئيس الاول في تاريخ افريقيا الذي منع ختان الاناث وزواج القاصرات وقام بتعيين النساء في المناصب الحكومية العليا ,
 بدأ عهده بتطهير البلاد من الفساد وخفّض رواتب الوزراء وباع أسطول السيارات المستوردة في الموكب الرئاسي ،واستبدلها بأرخص أنواع السيارات في بوركينو فاسو وهي الـ (رينو 5). كان راتبه 450 دولار شهريا ورفض إستخدام حتى مكيف الهواء في مكتبه، قائلا بأنه يشعر بالذنب لأن القليل جدا من شعبه يستطيع أن يملك ذلك.
رفض أن تعلق صوره في المكاتب والمؤسسات الحكومية. شجّع على نمو الصناعات المحلية وأصبح البوركينيون يرتدون قطنا وطنيا 100% قطن تم نسجه وتفصيله في بوركينا فاسو .
مع فجر 15 /اكتوبر 1987،صُوّب مدفع رشاش نحو مقر إقامته ليقتل سنكارا ويوقف أحلامه بأفريقيا حرة.قال قبل اسبوع من اغتيالة انه اقتحم المحظور في العرف الاستعماري، وتجاسر على قضايا المديونية والتبعية، وان تلك القوى قد ضاقت ذرعا به وانه سيتم اغتياله وختم قوله "يمكن قتل الثوار، لكن أفكارهم لا تقتل .

Politicians Barriers


This is my first article  in english but is not least ,although  I am not good at writing  english but i will do my best to convey you  my  message in this article. I will tell  you later why not by somali language.
We are  somalis all muslim sunni, have one language,one ethnicity,no much difference  in biological  feature. we have very good   traditions and cultures.
Somalis people  either in the countryside or in the cities they accommodate their guests and feed them well. We are good in helping each other, also helping   poor. we are unique in case of social  solidarity. There is no arguments how we are wide  open between us in case of business sharing,affinity  relationships. you find there is no limitation between  Somalis.
In contrast of all good things  mentioned above we are really  have political  barriers  specially when it come movement  of politicians within the country. Let me give you an example in this matter last visit of  Ex-Puntland preside Mr.Farole to Hargeysa the procedure has been taken more then 3 month almost  to allow him to enter  for a condolence, family reason. somaliland authority  have been tried to hide  the event,  but no one can hide  nothing in the world of widely  opened social media.
What is happen if  Ismail Buba to visit Hargeysia without  changing his principle   about somali unity or Faisal Ali UCID  party leader to visit Mogdisho without concede  his ideology  of somaliland separation. maybe to visit Israel  easier for him. The men  meet with southern politicians in Dubia or Nairobi and chat with them as they belong one family. But when they back to Hargeysa imitate like the southern people are first  enemy of somaliland people, this is kind of political drama in the  north.                            
The current  puntland president Mr.Gaas  been visited to Galmudug two times  when he was PM and the other time  as somli citizen,but you can't  convince him at the moment to come visit Galmudug, maybe to visit Gebra's uncle in Adwa,Ethobia  more easier for him.
This what i can't  understand why politicians have limitations on their movements  freely in the country!
Is this something generated automatically  it self without justifiable reason! or its something  dictated outside of the country?
I think its not wise to create  barriers within our country regions, we want from somali people and politicians to grew up their mentality for non sense to leash plolticians movements within their land, as we know the world become as   small village.
N.B
It supposed to whisper you in your ear why i  chosen to wrote my article in english instead  of Somali language, I'm telling  loudly there are more than half million of Somali generation don't know  how to read or to write their mother tongue. It is another problem, I will address in another article
